Peacock Tales

I would like to share with you, my fellow travellers, the origin of how I came to choose the peacock, or at least its plumage, to be part of my new journey.

There is far more to it than simply liking the beautiful colours this majestic bird displays or the design of its unique and dazzling tail feathers.

Let me tell you a Peacock tale.

When I was in the infancy stage of contemplating whether I should have a website or not, I was overwhelmed by the whole notion.

The complexity and planning of what or how I would create it were well beyond my comprehension.

  • What would I write?
  • What do I actually do with it?
  • How can I operate it, let alone find someone to design it for me?

With these questions in my mind, my consolation was quiet meditation each day. A time to still the monkey mind chatter as we say in yoga and follow the calm and comforting breath.

Once I was in a calm and connected state with a higher source, things come to me in my meditation.

Seeing myself standing on lush green grass with my bare feet feeling the connection with mother earth, a peacock would gracefully and calmly strut around me.

I admired the unique, shining, iridescent blue coat, and was mesmerized by its elegant, fanned tail with multiple eyes of greens, blues, browns and yellow, that just seemed to watch me.

This majestic creature also wore a golden three-pointed crown on its royal head. Always staying in close proximity, I knew it was a message for me.

After my meditation, I researched what the spiritual meaning of the Peacock was.

Animals in visions are there to bring you a message. No matter which animal presents itself, I always receive a clear and definite insight from it. Intrigued by what this divine bird was wanting to tell me, I was immediately enlightened by its message.

The Symbol of the Peacock

Peacocks are a symbol of:

  • Rebirth and rejuvenation
  • Royalty, respect, honesty, and integrity
  • Beauty, love, and passion

The mating ritual of the peacock represents vanity. We can learn vanity is never fulfilling.

Our inner beauty is far more important than our appearance.

Peacocks were always a symbol of royalty as only kings and their elite guests could watch and be in the presence of these elegant and graceful birds, common folk were never allowed to lay eyes on these majestic creatures.

Peacocks can help you spiritually, just as they are unaware of their own beauty, we can be unaware of our inner strengths. They can show us our inner beauty, hidden skills, and talents. Different cultures tell stories of peacock immortality.

This bird represents the mythological Phoenix, the bird with great plumage that died, burned in flames, went to ashes, and then rose again transformed as an immortal creature.

Rising from the Ashes

I knew then this symbol was giving me the virtues I wanted to represent what I stood for.

Honesty, integrity, transformation for people and to help them find their true inner beauty and strengths.

My intention of my blogs was to tell you tales derived from truth, to have integrity behind them and to hopefully help transform the reader to seeing a positive and truer perspective of life. I want to help people change the tales that they may be telling themselves that are not supportive or uplifting. The tales that are not aiding them in reaching their true and fulfilling potential. We all need to tell ourselves tales that are inspiring, real and give one hope and drive to move forward.

I wanted to share this with you, so you have a fuller understanding behind the meaning and process of how I produced the colours and the peacock as my branding message.

This is also a tale that teaches us that there is always something deeper and more meaningful, than simply meets the eye. Taking time to be still and find the message that lies within, can bring clarity and guidance.

Look around, a real look, not just what you see on the surface and find the true beauty and message that life and nature holds for you. Then realise that this amazing beauty and innate energy lies within all of us.
